Weed description
The culms are stout, usually decumbent at the base, smooth and 30-90 cm long when prostrate. The leaves 5-15cm long 5-10 wide and some what hairy. The sheath is 5-15cm long ,3 to 13 finger like segments in whorls at the top of the stem. It has ability of spreading and covering the ground.
CONTROL
- Post emergence application of Quizalofop ethyl@ 60 g ai/ha is recommended during crop growthh
- Intercultural operations reduce the incidence of the weed in tobacco in the initial stages
- Hand weeding regularly reduces the weed infestation.
